| Day 1 |
Meeting at the airport/railway station. Transfer to a hotel. Accommodation. Dinner. Bus tour around Rostov with visiting ancient musical instruments exposition in the Museum of Regional Study. Supper. Free time. |
| Day 2 |
Breakfast. Bus excursion to Taganrog (67 km away from Rostov), located on the bank of the Taganrog Bay of the Azov Sea. The town was founded by the Russian Tsar, Peter the Great in 1698. Sightseeing tour around the city with visiting the Chekhov’s House museum, the Chekhov Literature Museum. Dinner. The evening of Russian romance in the guest room with the fireplace in the Local Lore Museum, situated in the Alferaki palace. Supper. Return to Rostov. Free time. |
| Day 3 |
Breakfast. Bus excursion to the museum – reserve Tanais, situated in the Don lowers in the open air. It was founded by ancient Greeks in the 3rd century BC on the most northern border of ancient civilization at the edge of Oikumena. Walking tour along the side-streets and dig of the former Greek port-town. Visiting the museum with the unique collection of amphorae, items of daily life and work of Greeks and Sarmats, coins. Dinner in Tanais. Return to Rostov. Free time. |
| Day 4 |
Breakfast. Bus tour to Starocherkasskaya stanitsa (30 km from Rostov), the former capital of free Don Cossacks (the middle of the 17th century – beginning of the 19th century). Visiting the beauty of the Don Region: the Cathedral of Resurrection with an outstanding example of wood carving, the unique golden five-tiered iconostasis, the estate of ataman Efremov; the unique hip-belfry, the only one in the South of Russia. You can become a Cossack right here and see the performance of the Cossacks folk group «We are glad to meet the guests on our Don land». Dinner. Seeing –off with songs of the Razdolie folk group. |
