“Constellation of beautiful names”
The program acquaints constellation of names with memorable places on Don, connected with a life and creativity of the people, being pride of Russia. 7 days, 6 excursions, 8 museums.
| Day 1 |
Breakfast. City tour through Rostov with visiting memorable places, connected to life and work of the Don writers: Mikhail Sholokhov, Vladimir Stavsky, Vitaly Zakrutkin, Anatoly Kalinin, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and Daniil Koretsky. Besides, you get the information on the poets and writers, who visited the Don land, that is Sergey Esenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky and others. Visiting the Museum of Fine Arts with canvases of Russian artists of the 18th-20th centuries. |
| Day 2 |
Breakfast. Tour to Aksai (18 km from Rostov) with visiting Horse-post station of the 19th century. The post station was next to the Aksai crossing over the Don, “the main transport across the river”. The museum center comprises the house of a station keeper, a hotel, where used to stay poets and writers such as Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Leo Tolstoi, great Russian general Alexander Suvorov on their way to the Caucasus. |
| Day 3 |
Breakfast. Tour to Taganrog (18 km from Rostov), world-famous as the homeland of the writer Anton Chekhov. Visiting the memorable places and museums, that is Chekhov’s House , where Chekhov was born; the Chekhovs’ Shop, where Chekhov spent 5 years of his life; the The Literary Museum, situated in the building of classic men’s gymnasium, at which all Chekhovs’ children studied; the town’s Chekhov theatre. The excursion makes you feel the atmosphere of places, where the writer spent his boyhood and youth. The history of this seaside town is connected with many outstanding people. They are Russian emperors Peter the Great and Alexander I, the workers of Russian culture Alexander Pushkin, Peter Chaikovsky, Alexander Kuindzhi, Faina Ranevskaya, Konstantin Paustovsky and Ivan Vasilenko. |
| Day 4-7 |
Tour to Vyoshenskaya satnitsa, the homeland of the Nobel prize winner, the writer Mikhail Sholokhov. The State Sholokhov Reserve Museum comprises 6 branches, situated in Kruzhilinsk village, Vyoshenskaya and Karginskaya satnitsas. During the excursion you see the house, where the writer was born, lived and created his works, the museum-estate of Sholokhov, and his grave.
